The Fall Green(Hill) Triathlon with Balance Hot Yoga

PARKING + ARRIVAL

If this will be your 1st class at Joywheel or it’s been a long time since your last, we do ask that you arrive at Joywheel 20-25 minutes before your start time. (4505 Algonquin Dr.)

For all others that have been to Joywheel before & feel comfortable setting up their bike, please make sure you arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your start time. PLEASE HELP US START ON TIME!

We recommend car pooling with a friend or having somebody drop you off at Joywheel to start — the event will end at Balance on Viking Road. (924 Viking Rd, Cedar Falls, IA 50613)

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:

Due to the cycling portion of the event, we strongly recommend that ladies wear leggings or biker shorts. Traditional short running shorts are not advised. Weather can vary so you may want to bring a long sleeve layer just in case. 

We highly recommend that you ARRIVE in your RUNNING SHOES. When you arrive at Joywheel you'll change into the cycling shoes that are provided (or you can bring your own), that way after class you'll be able to change right back into your running shoes.

We will have a bin to put any personal items in after cycling & have it waiting for you over at Balance. Please only pack the essentials so we’re transporting 24 large duffles :) For yoga, you’re welcome to bring your own yoga mat or use a provided one.

ROUTES

The run/walk portion of the triathlon starts at Joywheel and uses the beautiful Cedar Prairie Trail to get to Balance on Viking Road.

The route is roughly 2 miles — participants will have the option to shorten it at the end by walking up the grassy hill (screenshot shown below) — OR — lengthen the route by staying on the bike path.

Please peek at the route beforehand for familiarity and then follow the signs, There will be a lead biker. Yoga will wait to start until everyone arrives!

 

ROUTE DETAILS

  • Starts by heading east on the frontage road behind Caseys

  • Cross Ashworth Dr. and turn right ➡️ briefly, before cutting over to the bike trail (Cedar Prairie Trail) on your left. There will be a sign there to help!

  • Follow the bike path until it comes to a T intersection, then turn LEFT ⬅️ to stay on the trail.

  • Shortly after you’ll come to another intersection, this time turn RIGHT ➡️ to follow the Cedar Prairie Trail towards the industrial park.

  • This will bring you along a gorgeous trail and have you go underneath Viking Road. Once on the south side of Viking Road you have 2 options:

    • For the shorter route (1.8 Miles) – skip the loop by cutting up to the frontage road and heading up the grassy hill along the solar panel fence.

    • For the longer route (2.2 Miles), follow the bike path and turn left at the left to loop back. After the solar panels, turn right to head up the grassy hill along the fence. We’ll have signs to help!

    • Balance is located between Fit Courts & Sidecar Coffee.
